Atelier by Abimis adorns the patio of a private villa on Lake Constance

The exclusive home, starring an outdoor version of the professionally-derived Atelier kitchen, is a modern architecture, with a strong scenic impact, distinguished by a sophisticated and enchanting interior design project, which suggest the utmost domestic comfort and full functionality with a contemporary twist.

Affording breath-taking views of Lake Constance, a natural basin marking the borders with Germany, Austria and Switzerland, the house is defined by huge floor-to-ceiling windows that not only ensure a smooth and harmonious passage from indoors to outdoors, but also flood the interiors with exceptional amounts of natural light, making them even more comfortable, while providing a show-stopping view of the surroundings.

The desire to make the outside an elegant ‘mode de vie’ and to enjoy it fully as a spontaneous continuation of the living and dining area, where they could benefit from the same feelings of warmth and well-being, led the home owners to create a double kitchen, an indoor one and one ‘in the open air’. In particular, the Atelier kitchen was fitted outside so that it could be transformed – where necessary and depending on the time of year – into another practical indoor kitchen: the two huge glass doors around it, thanks to a sliding system, can recreate a closed and heated environment, which is why the kitchen is completed by a hood the same length as the kitchen module.

Atelier outdoor, in the satin finish, is designed here in an elegant version with a compact, perfectly organised structure to make various cooking modes possible: on the top, in addition to the workspace, there is in fact both an induction hob and an American grill. The composition is entirely in AISI 316 stainless steel, an alloy which – thanks to the addition of molybdenum – proves particularly suitable for ‘life’ in settings that are rich in salt air and which makes the kitchen resistant to changes in temperature and to all weather. Truly bespoke, like all other Abimis kitchens, Atelier retains the typical squared doors and the unmistakable meticulous, elemental and formal design.
