Cattelan Italia presents its new sofas

BALDWIN
Design: Maurizio Manzoni

For Cattelan Italia, 2026 marks the consolidation of an increasingly defined vision of contemporary living. In recent years, the company has strengthened its focus on upholstered furniture, recognizing its central role within the living space.

With its soft, generous shapes and a sinuous profile free of sharp edges, Baldwin is a welcoming silhouette that sits at the center of the living area. Its low structure and horizontal design accentuate a sense of spatial openness, while its dense, balanced volumes convey immediate comfort.

Particular attention is devoted to the quality of the padding and upholstery, thoughtfully designed to deliver a rich, all-encompassing sensory experience. Baldwin fosters relaxation while standing out as the true focal point of the living room, thanks to its strong visual identity. The option to choose mixed upholstery, soft leather on the outside and fabric on the inside, highlights the exceptional level of customization achieved through Cattelan Italia’s know- how. A wide selection of fabrics and leathers allows each sofa to be tailored with a bespoke approach, adapting effortlessly to a variety of styles and living spaces.

MURPHY
An upholstered system for the architecture of residential and contract spaces
Design: Maurizio Manzoni

Inspired by organic and natural forms, the Murphy sofa by Cattelan Italia unfolds through a composition of soft, irregular volumes whose lines evoke dunes shaped by the wind. Its aesthetic, at once primordial and contemporary, builds a sculptural presence capable of engaging with space without imposing rigid hierarchies. The departure from traditional linearity introduces a new design language, in which upholstery becomes an architectural element capable of defining and articulating the environment.

The defining feature of the design is the backrest: a soft, memory foam upholstered support that can is fully repositionable. This feature makes it possible to modulate the depth of the seat and to transform the space fluidly, shifting naturally from individual moments of relaxation to more convivial settings. The absence of fixed structures also opens up double-sided and vis-à-vis configurations, further amplifying the versatility of the system. Completing Murphy’s silhouette is the feather blend scatter cushion, conceived as a counterpoint to the backrest.
