Scala, the lounge collection born from the cooperation between Alma Design and architect Marco Piva, takes its cue from the desire to pay tribute to the culture of the Milan project and to experiment new combinations of materials.

Scala is an enchanting and addictive tale of quality, style and elegance, result of the creativity of Marco Piva and the production experience of Alma Design, which has always been oriented towards a vision of dynamic, modern and contemporary living.

Thanks to this coincidence, born the wish to realize a special project to celebrate the territory and culture of Milan, where the high quality of the workmanship and the original and fascinating combination of different materials create a perfect balance of shapes and volumes capable of transmitting tactile perceptions and extraordinary visuals.

Scala, composed of an enveloping lounge chair and tables of different shapes and sizes, refers in detail to some elements typical of the accessories and interiors of the city of Milan in the ’50s.

Precious brass finishes, in different shades, are mixed with precious fabrics and refined velvets to create an emotional collection that respects the harmony and the typical proportions of the furnishings of a recent past, reinterpreting them in a modern key.

With Scala collection, Alma Design and Marco Piva pay tribute to the city of Milan, the capital of fashion design. Suggestive quotes from the past come back, to ‘live’ in the contemporary. For example, the sophisticated pleating of velvets that ‘dress’ the lounge chair, refers to the typical details of high fashion garments.
