Ego by Abimis for a private residence in Saanen

Having already chosen Abimis for their holiday home in Pantelleria, the owners decided to turn to the brand once again for the kitchen of a second home, this time in Saanen, in the Swiss mountains. A project born from the direct dialogue with the Abimis team and developed around the needs of those who live in the home, with particular attention to functionality and details.

The home, in the heart of the town, stands in a setting of historic wooden chalets, an expression of 17th Century Alpine tradition, whose historic façades have been preserved.

For this setting, a kitchen from the Ego line was chosen, rendered as a fully bespoke composition, made from AISI 304 stainless steel with a finish orbitally polished by hand. The rounded flush doors, integrated into the structure, and the patented Abimis hinge, both distinctive features of the model, help define its character.

The configuration develops across base units, tall units and open compartments, rationally organising the various tasks carried out in the kitchen. The refrigerator is integrated into the tall units, while compartments, large drawers and stainless steel shelves offer a variety of storage options. The project is completed by solutions devised for specific requirements, such as the spice drawer and the dedicated niche for chopping boards. The layout is arranged across two functionally distinct walls: one dedicated to the workspace and storage, the other, L-shaped, brings together the cooking area, complete with extractor hood, and the washing area.

The room is defined by the warmth of natural wood, which lines the ceiling and part of the walls, establishing a dialogue with the pale plasterwork and the geometrically patterned stone floor. In this context, Ego finds its place through a balance of materials and finishes that balances the formal precision of stainless steel with the warm, natural tones of the architecture.

Rich in detail yet well-balanced, the composition alternates stainless steel surfaces with glass doors, which offer a glimpse of the contents within. The finish, orbitally polished by hand, lends the surface a refined satin sheen, while the crockery and everyday objects on open display add a personal touch, making the kitchen an integral part of the life of the home.

A project defined in every detail, in which the professional character of the Abimis kitchen harmonises with the welcoming atmosphere of this mountain home.
