Fragmenta + And Now, Design Across Spaces 20.05.2026
Mo.1950’s Milano Design Week
In the space of Via Molino delle Armi 14, The Instant of Change, curated by Luca Caizzi together with Mo.1950, returns with Fragmenta: an invitation to reconsider not only what production generates, but what it leaves behind.
The residue sheds its marginal condition to become the protagonist: traces, dust, fragments, elements that usually remain invisible, emerge as deposits of time and process, carrying an industrial memory.
The project unfolds as a collective intervention practice: Struggente Studio, a photography duo composed of Luigi Fiano and Ardesia Coco, together with the stylist duo Castore–Polluce, represented by Jessica Zorzin and Beatrice Isabella Bonetto, worked side by side in the darkroom, creating images collaboratively.
Within this shared process, guided by the technical know-how of chemistry and photography, as well as by an experimental and playful attitude, the imprints of matter are translated into images. Investigated in its most material dimension, the photographic image absorbs the essence of the residue, contained within its imprint and its memory. The result is a tribute to Man Ray’s rayogram: an image produced without a camera, by placing objects directly on a photosensitive surface and exposing it to light.
In this context, the fragment is no longer part of a lost whole, but a possible origin. Each trace becomes a sign, each sign opens up to new interpretations, multiple narratives, and infinite imaginaries. The result takes the form of abstract representations, suspended compositions that seem to come from elsewhere, almost from another world.
Fragmenta presents to the public an idea of change that manifests in its most essential form: not as fracture, but as a continuous shift in meaning, transforming the end of a production cycle into the beginning of an aesthetic possibility.
A new chapter that also marks a milestone within The Instant of Change: the collective practice establishes itself both as method and outcome, embracing the possibility of developing new projects through the convergence of different entities operating within the same field.
As in previous editions, The Instant of Change is promoted and supported by Mo.1950’s partner brands: Caesar Ceramiche, Rexa, and QuadroDesign.
Through a renovated setup, Caesar reinterprets porcelain stoneware as an expressive system, where surfaces, textures, and technological innovation construct an ever-evolving design vocabulary; Rexa brings the physicality of materials to the forefront, juxtaposing concrete and pressed woods in a process of subtraction that connects matter with spatial perception; QuadroDesign articulates formal essentiality and technical precision within a rigorous and contemporary aesthetic.
This year, the installation within the space is further enriched by Kristalia with “And Now, Design
Across Spaces.”
Kristalia and MD, within the showroom spaces of Via Molino delle Armi 14, develop a coordinated vision of living, balancing formal research and function, presenting selected versions of iconic products and long-standing collaborations of the company, while introducing new products for 2026.
