Ego by Abimis among the Fiesole hills 23.03.2020
Fiesole is an incredibly picturesque town just outside Florence, offering stunning views over the surrounding hills. It is also home to a gorgeous historic villa whose materials and architecture bring typical Tuscan traditions to mind. The villa has multiple floors and is surrounded by small walls and other stone features that follow through into its interiors.
This charming residence, which once belonged to a famous Florentine painter, perfectly blends in with its natural surroundings that both welcome it and make it stand out, as do its top location and the sophisticated, modern style of its interiors, creating a pleasant contrast with the external structure.
The various rooms have a refined and relaxed atmosphere, where everything is designed with maximum comfort in mind.
Abimis plays a leading role with Ego: here, this iconic kitchen has been designed complete with upper shelves that integrate the cooker hood and other functional elements. Tall storage units have also been included, with reinforced, extractable shelves which are perfect for those heavier ‘work’ utensils. Together with the practical worktops that alternate between the cooking and washing areas, the new Ego concept is designed to skilfully make the best use out of the entire space, making the “operational” area more efficient.
Made entirely from AISI 304 stainless steel, Ego has once again proven its exceptional ability to provide bespoke creations: the kitchen had to be adapted to the specific requirements of the room’s unusual trapezoid shape, ensuring it would fit perfectly in proportion to the surroundings.
The characteristic bevelled flush doors are completely integrated into the Ego structure and, here, they are combined with large handles with rounded corners in an elegant brass finish, ideal to ensure top ergonomic performance.
Ego transforms the kitchen into a welcoming ‘haven’, turning cooking into an extraordinary experience. This kitchen confirms the importance of attention to detail that can be found throughout the house, meeting the need for comfort at the same time as practicality and aesthetics in the kitchen area.
