Yūrei by Lidia Covello and Alberto Gaiotto for OmniDecor 28.04.2023

OmniDecor.lab (Via Cerva, 23 – Milan) from 17 to 23 April 2023, during Milan Design Week, will be hosting Yūrei, vases designed by Lidia Covello and Alberto Gaiotto.
A step further, but still in the same direction as the previous year with Intro by Lidia Covello, this selection of vases composed of a painted aluminium tube and a glass silhouette represents an evolution of thought and intent in wanting to present, through finished products, the possible applications of OmniDecor glass.

While Intro was a kind of story made up of coloured overlapping geometric shapes by DecorOpal available in different shades, Yūrei with a free stroke, drawn by hand from interpretations that may seem elusive, refers to the concept of knowing how to do it by hand, very dear to the Italian craftsmanship of OmniDecor.

The project, which was born through a collaboration between the designers Lidia Covello and Alberto Gaiotto, aims to translate the need to bring into everyday life objects capable of transmitting harmony and serenity. Without any need to impose themselves with a physical presence, these new products become key elements of a diffused transparent scene represented by the characteristics of the glass.

Yūrei demonstrate their function by combining OmniDecor glass and light metal. The expressive force of the glass (Riga, Bondi, bisatinato (frosted on both sides), Rete, Microdot and Specchio) confirms the company’s careful experimentation and the potential for using the material itself which, in terms of the surface, texture, and visual effects, can also be easily used for designing accessories and not only for the world of architecture and furnishings.
