Monolith picks up a prestigious 2022 Good Design Award 23.01.2023

Following Shelf’s recent victory at the 2023 German Design Awards, one of the other solutions from the exclusive Elements collection has now claimed another international accolade.
This time the winner is Monolith, which earned a 2022 Good Design Award thanks to its hugely innovative nature. A truly outstanding year for Falmec was topped off by the announcement of the award by the Chicago Athenaeum, Museum of Architecture and Design. Founded in 1950, the awards programme features a jury of distinguished design professionals and leading industry specialists and members of the design press, who take criteria relating to creativity, innovation, branding, use of materials and technology into account in their assessments of submissions.

Along with Shelf and Air Wall, Monolith is part of Elements: a new collection for 2023 that was previewed at the Salone del Mobile in Milan.
Elements marks a genuine paradigm shift by making extraction an integral part of kitchen architecture, while also adapting to many different installation types and needs. More than just hoods, we are talking about dynamic, multi-purpose “modular systems” that give free rein to creativity and open up fresh design possibilities.

Monolith is a compact unit with a regular, cubic shape that rests directly on the worktop. The 90 cm suction unit opens up slightly to provide access to the extraction and lighting controls. 30 cm, 60 cm and 90 cm storage modules can be added on the left or the right and used to house kitchen utensils, spices, tableware, plug sockets and much more besides. All of this comes together to form a marvellously equipped package for unbeatable practicality in the kitchen. Two panes of polished glass add an even more sophisticated touch to the matt black aluminium frame, while ambient lighting creates an attractive suspended effect and makes the unit as a whole seem lighter.
