One more important accolade for Falmec’s acclaimed Italian design

A new and prestigious award achieved by Falmec at the end of 2021, brings even more accolades for our recently introduced Light kitchen hood.
The Good Design Award 2021, invaluable overseas recognition in the design field, is a very welcome addition to the other official affirmations for this hood: the Archiproducts Design Award 2021, the German Design Award and the Iconic Award 2022.

The award is conferred by the Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design founded in 1950 by the/in the name of the former MoMA curator Edgar Kaufmann, Jr., together with such pioneers in modern design as Charles and Ray Eames, Russel Wright, George Nelson, and Eero Saarinen. The Good Design Award honours both products and industry leaders in design and manufacturing that have chartered new directions and advanced the ideals of a design process that embodies product excellence and endurance and strong public identity. Every year, an international jury, composed of high level professionals in design and journalism, chooses the most worthy products for specific criteria established in the original 1950 programme – such as innovative concept and design, materials, functionality and sustainability.

For these reasons Light could only stand out among the more significant selected products for the Good Design Awards. Thanks to its ultra-compact 10cm high suction element that is contained in a minimal and sophisticated design, Light represents Falmec’s example of a product that aims to reach new design horizons. The new Multi-Air technology, conceived by Falmec, allows the suction power to be distributed between several small motors guaranteeing the same suction efficiency but within an extremely reduced volume.
Available in 120 cm or 180 cm versions, Light becomes the main centrepiece of the kitchen, whether as an independent space or in tandem with the living area. The large central body in tempered smoked glass is enhanced by two elements in black anodised satin aluminium, both equipped with LED lighting that extends along the entire lower perimeter, creating a warm ambience in the surrounding space.
