Ethimo at Design Post Cologne 30.03.2021

A new international Ethimo ‘shop window’

In the striking setting of what used to be the headquarters of the post office in Köln-Deutz until the nineties, Ethimo is opening its first German showroom. So, a new ‘home’ for showcasing and sharing its ideas and the top designs dedicated to contem-porary outdoor living.

The historical building, characterised by impressive steel and glass warehouses, was renovated in 2005 by architecture firm OIII of Amsterdam, and since 2006 it has hosted Design Post, a permanent exhibition dedicated to furniture and design. Exceptionally bright with an unmistakeable atmosphere of industrial inspiration, Design Post spotlights the top international design brands, affording them an ‘experiential’ space in which to present the newest trends and showcase their own new products and ideas to visitors.

Over the years, Design Post has become a reference point for architects and interior designers, a hotbed of creativity inter-woven with business, where new approaches to style are hatched and nurtured. Additionally, during the design fairs hosted by the nearby exhibition centre in Cologne, such as IMM and Orgatec, Design Post becomes an important ‘container’ of side events related to the themes of the exhibitions.

Ethimo brings to Design Post the Mediterranean spirit and an open-air living philosophy, characterised by a constant dialogue between architecture, nature and design, an approach expressed by paying close attention and responding to the need to contextualise each piece of furniture in its surroundings.

Ethimo will furnish the new showroom with some of its most iconic collections: sophisticated proposals with a welcoming de-sign that tell the story of the Ethimo world through a product experience composed of materials, accessories, fabrics and de-tails. Every collection, conceived to furnish private and contract outdoor spaces, is the expression of the most authentic fine Italian production, in a place created to host a dynamic, multi-disciplinary exchange of ideas and new design trends.
