In San Candido, in South Tyrol, the kitchen blends into the architecture of a private home thanks to an entirely custom design, which pairs the precision of stainless steel with the warmth of wood. The star of the show is Ego by Abimis, chosen by architect Pavl\u00edna Sas\u00ednkov\u00e1 to develop a composition devised in relation to the space and the requirements of day-to-day life.<\/p>\n
The kitchen stretches along a wall-mounted composition and a large central island, establishing a well-balanced dialogue between the stainless steel of Ego and wood, which echoes the character of the home without attempting to camouflage it. Along the back wall, the doors and storage compartments alternate with the stainless steel worktop, which runs along the front beneath the windows and incorporates the washing area, creating a generous and continuous work surface. In the preparation area, the stainless steel worktop develops in the shape of an \u201cL\u201d, following the geometry of the space and shaped specifically around the sturdy exposed beams, structural elements that contribute to creating a direct relationship between the kitchen and the architecture of the home.
\nAt the centre, the island made entirely of AISI 304 stainless steel is the focal point of the composition and brings together the main operational functions: the hob, which occupies the short side, the integrated appliances, a generously sized worktop and the sink with professional-grade taps. On the side facing the living room, the snack top complete with stools suggests a sociable dimension. Above the island, a stainless steel cover integrates the hood and extends as a suspended element, completed by the utensil rail.<\/p>\n
The result is an elegant, understated and welcoming setting, where a rigorous and contemporary solution blends in naturally with the Alpine surroundings, which are traditionally associated with natural materials and finishes.<\/p>\n
The collaboration with Abimis stems from the expertise the architect gained on a previous project, during which she had the opportunity to visit the company and appreciate the quality of its craftsmanship, the attention to detail and the possibility of developing unique and entirely bespoke solutions. When it came to designing the kitchen for this private residence in San Candido, the choice of Ego therefore came naturally. The ability to define dimensions, materials and configuration according to the space made it possible to create a kitchen designed specifically for this home, without compromising on creative freedom.<\/p>\n
