Ethimo and Luca Nichetto are reinventing weaving in a new expression of outdoor design

OLEIA is a name that evokes Mediterranean landscapes, vibes, sunshine and olive trees, inviting us to enjoy open-air spaces in harmony with nature. Its soft lines and woven rope are conceived to welcome and embrace, encouraging a sensation of comfort and relaxation. In OLEIA, Ethimo and studio NICHETTO® have created a collection transcending lounge sets in a place where design interplays with the environment, every detail speaking of balance and well-being.

The collection draws inspiration from the olive tree, symbol of the Mediterranean, with its flexible forms and interlacing branches. The olive tree has been an enduring source of inspiration, influencing ancient civilisations in creating seats, baskets and light architecture blending materials and gestures in a perfect balance between beauty and function.

OLEIA brings this principle into the contemporary world, its essential structure featuring a rope weave that develops and ‘moves’ like the branches of an olive tree. Each hand-woven piece celebrates time, movement and direct contact with matter itself. The rope takes on rhythm, texture and depth, transforming the surfaces into a dynamic and tactile element.

Lightweight yet sturdy and physical yet essential, OLEIA stands the test of time, always true to its identity. Natural light accentuates the weave, creating shadows and vibrations reminiscent of leaves dancing in the breeze.

Conceived as a complete lounge system, the collection blends nature with design and tradition with contemporary style, in a harmonious blend of forms and materials. Generous dimensions and curved lines elevate comfort to a delightful outdoor living experience, while the three-dimensional quality of the rope imbues each element with movement.

The collection includes a sofa, love seat, lounge armchair, pouf and side table with stone top, for matching solutions whose forms, proportions and details are enhanced by woven rope.
