Catellani & Smith’s lamps are renowned for their distinctive character and ability to create warm, welcoming atmospheres. This unique style is evident in the private residences located in the province of Caserta and Naples, showcasing a diverse selection of the brand’s luminous creations.

Designed by architect Antonio Zagaria, the first residence is situated in the heart of Aversa’s historic center (Caserta), just a few steps away from the Duomo and the main shopping streets. Housed within an ancient building, this home is the result of a significant restoration that faithfully preserved the historical identity of the location, including the arches within the apartment.

The original layout of the house featured many segmented spaces, which have been reconfigured to allow for freer movement between rooms. The residence is centered around a small winter garden, enclosed by a glass wall, with which the living area and kitchen seamlessly interact, providing a sense of openness and fluidity. At the heart of this project is the enchanting garden itself, where the Fil de Fer floor lamp, placed at the base of a historic tree, illuminates the space with its tiny LEDs creating a truly magical ambiance.

The interior decoration is a masterful blend of diverse materials – from the wooden parquet to the white marble flooring with brown veining – as well as artworks and photographs that foster a refined and contemporary environment.

The lamps selected for this residence feature the unmistakable gold-colored leaf that is typical of Catellani & Smith’s creations, such as the Gold Moon Chandelier in the living area, Ale BIG illuminating a black-and-white portrait on the wall, PostKrisi 70 in the bedroom, and Stchu-Moon 01.

Complementing these golden creations, are the perfect circles of the Sorry Giotto floor lamp and the chromatic harmony of Ettorino BIG’s finish in three primary colors, which cast a luminous magenta magic onto the ceiling.

In the same province of Caserta, within a residential villa designed by architect Giovanni Schiavone, individual Gold Moon pendants form a striking composition that illuminates the long dining table in the living area. The varying heights of the pendants and the irregular shapes of the shades add dynamism to the entire arrangement, while the golden leaf finish adds warmth to a space characterized by parquet flooring throughout the house and furnishings in wood or deep hues.

Recessed Stchu-Moon R lamps on the ceilings, along with the Ettorino BIG floor lamp, illuminate the living areas, which are adorned with small sculptures and artworks. For the outdoor spaces, featuring a covered porch and an elegant infinity pool, were selected some models from the outdoor collection. The vibrant green vegetation is punctuated by the precious stems of Syphasera and Syphasfera, while the enchanting Fil de Fer Outdoor lamp by the poolside creates magical reflections in the water.

In Naples, a residence designed by Consonni Arredamenti welcomes guests into a bright dining room dominated by the Petits Bijoux lamp above an impressive marble-topped table.

The room’s lighting is complemented by a pair of Cono lamps with an intense blue finish, which, along with the red velvet chairs, add a touch of colour to the space.

Moving towards the elegant kitchen, the standout piece is the Nuvola lamp. Its luminous weave creates a sharp contrast with the black furnishings and is reflected in the mirrored finish of the cabinets, giving a sense of greater depth.

The living area, with a sea view, features two Sfera lamps mounted on a red wall, which enhances their mirrored surfaces and the beams of light. The reflective effect of the spheres captures the surrounding space, transforming the lamps into luminous objects even when switched off.
