For the second year running, Falmec has won a prestigious German Design Award. In 2019, Falmec received an award for Sintesi, its integrated cooking system. The 2020 award is for the company’s unique hood, Spazio in the Excellent Product Design category, as before.

In every aspect – from its multiple ‘smart’ functions, to the steel that comes directly from the ‘Inox Valley’ in Venice, and the elegance of designer Francesco Lucchese – Spazio by Falmec completely won over the jury composed of leading personalities in the fields of architecture, interior design and the international press.

Spazio is an innovative island hood in steel, interspersed with smoked glass shelves for storing dishes and glasses, and equipped with a channel divided between hooks for ladles and a shelf for spices with roll holder.

From a technological point of view, Spazio boasts a system of electrical sockets and USB ports, which allow you to recharge and have electronic devices at your fingertips, plus a ‘tablet’ support to access your favourite recipe apps in a fast and practical way. Spazio also offers a special area for the cultivation of aromatic plants with a dedicated light and a kit composed of two trays. In addition, the hood incorporates Falmec’s renowned Circle.Tech system, allowing the outgoing air to not only be spread more evenly, but also to be more effectively filtered by the natural Carbon.Zeo filters that wrap around the engine. This method is achieved thanks to Falmec’s unique ability to combine the suction and filtering parts into one single piece.

Created by an initiative of the German Design Council, an authoritative worldwide organisation for communication and brand management in the design sector, the German Design Award is awarded to all those products and services that meet three essential criteria: high quality, originality of design and functionality in use. By winning this prestigious international design award for 2020, Spazio by Falmec has been clearly identified as a shining example of all three.
