Ethimo, with its outdoor collections, is the Official Supplier to Casa Italia, the official headquarters of the Italian Olympic Team and all their guests for the XXIII Olympic Winter Games in 2018, to be held from 9 to 25 February in PyeongChang, South Korea.

Conceived to promote excellence Made in Italy and present the best of Italian sport, Casa Italia is located inside the Yongpyong Golf Club, in the heart of the Alpensia Resort, the core of the Olympic competitions and ceremonies.

After its success at the Rio Olympics in 2016, Casa Italia is back as an extraordinary project: not only an official address for hosting the official meetings and team Italy, but a symbol of Italian lifestyle: it aims to promote its home country, showcasing it to an international audience with a concept that ‘illustrates’ the best in design, food&beverage, technology and hospitality thanks to which Italians are recognised and esteemed worldwide.

It therefore turns sport into exceptional medium for publicising Italy’s excellences, thanks to companies that lead their sector market.

Once again, Ethimo and its furniture have been selected as the best expression of what Italy has to offer in the sector of top-end outdoor design.

Ethimo will be furnishing the two big external terraces at Casa Italia, with the Allaperto Mountain collection, designed by Matteo Thun and Antonio Rodriguez, and the Costes collection.

These two unusual mountain lines are naturally perfect for this extraordinary location. The fine teak used for the pieces, in pickled and Chocolate pickled finishes respectively, is teamed with innovative fabrics, soft cushions and warm accessories in fur, ideal for pleasantly relaxing in natural surroundings, even when temperatures are harsh.

The outdoor spaces at Casa Italia have been conceived by Ethimo to be special places where design and comfort come together to welcome guests and athletes. Allaperto Mountain and the Costes lounges will recreate typical indoor warmth and feel good sensations on the terraces, in this way enhancing relaxation in this amazing setting.

Casa Italia is a ‘journey’ into quality Made in Italy, where Ethimo furniture confirms its role as the most genuine expression of Italian Design in the world of outdoor furnishings, interpreting the Italian culture of al fresco living.
