Ula – MY home collection 20.09.2018

Lightness and minimalism for the new chair designed by Serena Confalonieri

The quest for originality takes shape in the aesthetics of the new chair Ula, designed by Serena Confalonieri for the colourful universe of MY home collection.
Ula prioritizes geometric perfection and “slim” volumes for fitting into any room of the contemporary home with versatility. The lacquered steel tube forms the backrest and the curves of the armrests that bend downwards forming the front legs, making the seat extremely light to the extent that it seems almost suspended. With polyurethane rubber padding and a seat cover made of polyester fibre, the backrest – which leans gently on the structure – like the seat, are covered in one- or two-colour fabrics for fun colour combinations.

The interesting play on solid and empty shapes of the new chair Ula sits alongside that of the armchair Baba, which received a great welcome from the public at the last Salone del Mobile. Again, the play on contrasts is clear in the quest for volumes between the seat and the ‘roller- shaped’ backrest, and the slim body that moves sinuously through the welcoming shapes of the padded parts. With their explosive personalities, Ula and Baba liven up homes and contract spaces with a young and informal style.
