Ginko, new shape for shade

Ethimo expands its outdoor accessories collection with the addition of Ginko, the new sun umbrella by Studio Zanellato/Bortotto, designed to team function, colour, and attention to detail.

The umbrella’s name stems from its canopy that features a radial design and vertical strips, and opens in a fan shape similar to the leaf on the ancient Ginkgo biloba plant, a symbol of equilibrium and resilience.

A round silhouette and the pattern of stripes across its fabric surface are the defining characteristics of Ginko. The structure is supported by a central pole in teak that ensures natural equilibrium and helps to create a subtle yet sophisticated presence in outdoor spaces. The canopy comes in different two-tone colourways: Ivory/Pine Green, Ivory/Red Earth, and Ivory/Dove Grey, conceived to mix and match with Ethimo furnishings and fit into different outdoor settings.

Ginko can be complemented with various standard solutions: from the classic structure in aluminium to the version fitted with the woven Patio Basket, in the characteristic weave of the Patio collection. Available in Light Grey or Laguna rope, Patio Basket attaches to the base of the umbrella with the teak pole slotted through it, providing a handy surface and storage. Practical and decorative, it can also be used on its own as a versatile accessory to complete lounge sets.

Adapting quite naturally to different contexts— terraces, city balconies, private gardens, and hospitality locations—Ginko creates welcoming shady zones in outdoor lounges, relaxation zones or dining areas, combining function, atmosphere, and comfort.

A new take on comfort for outdoor living

Reef, the name itself is all about holidays, sun and sea, and the joy of being outside. A zone for chilling, where feeling good is embodied in a sophisticated Mediterranean style that recalls the laid-back mood of days spent in the sun.

Reef expands the Ethimo collection of sun loungers with an idea inspired by the boating world that teams precision design and extreme comfort. Available in two variants, single and double, this lounger is an element of style and relaxed elegance, a contemporary makeover of the aesthetic of boat swim platforms and the weave of fishing nets.

Its natural teak base defines the profile of the lounger’s structure. The frame running all round the edge is an eye-catching, functional element and also acts as a handy surface, the big soft cushions with their contrasting piping ensure maximum comfort and make the tailoring of the details stand out. An innovative mechanism concealed in the structure—the Invisible Recline System—allows the angle of the backrest to be adjusted smoothly and intuitively, doing away with the traditional visible brackets to ensure a sleek outline. On the back, refined rope weaving lends visual lightness to the structure. A subtle nod to the boating world, it offers extra room for towels when the backrest is raised.
