Cut Out by MARCANTE-TESTA 19.01.2023

The rhythmic sequencing of positive and negative space in Cut Out, the new rug from Carpet Edition designed by MARCANTE–TESTA and premiered at the 60th edition of Salone del Mobile in Milan, is complimented by minimal lines and soft colors that, encapsulated in a sharp and intense profile, reflect a bold and creative atmosphere. Cut Out is a journey into traditions, from the most ancient tied to nomadic populations, who knotted textile fibers to produce everyday items, to more contemporary ones which are no longer just an expression of art and culture in a community, but the story of a new dimension of living made of simple and refined volumes.

Passion for textiles, colors and materials express the deep know how of MARCANTE–TESTA: the Cut Out rug, produced in New Zealand wool (10mm Bouclé), features a pattern in Tencel (14mm velour). The rug is available in three sizes (170 x 240 cm, 200 x 300 cm, 300 x 400 cm) and four-color schemes (Soft pink, Perfect yellow, Unique green, and Relaxed beige). The cuts and cutouts that decorate the new Cut Out rug transform the domestic environment into a new contemporary living space able to accommodate different cultures. The composition, realized with strict rules, combined with the texturality of the material and the alternating of positive and negative space can become a focal point for a room or complete a larger decor. The color contrast and the shape of Cut Out give life to a product which manages to define different spaces in the home.
