Bulbi, Nodi and Woody 27.03.2023

Bulbi, new geometric shapes in dialogue with nature.

Ethimo and Studiopepe have created a new collection of vases to furnish and complete outdoor spaces.

‘Bulbi is a family of concrete vases with clean-cut simple lines, inspired by the archetypal shapes of the containers. The individual sculpted elements can also be grouped together to create new totemic shapes. The name,” says Studiopepe, “refers to both their shape and the concept of nourishment, of growth and therefore of nature, in the purest sense of the term. The colours chosen evidence their almost primitive texture.”

The Bulbi collection comprises six vases in different shapes and sizes that can be used either singly or together in groups, or even as handy occasional tables, in an original reworking of the most classic use of this furnishing accessory.

Artisan craftsmanship gives their surface an unusual texture, emphasising just how solid and uniquely imperfect each element is, each one imbued with unrepeatable aesthetic qualities.

Their unexpected modularity and the Mediterranean mood of their warm natural colours makes them versatile decorative articles, perfect for defining any setting and lending personality to any outdoor design project.

Nodi is the new collection of outdoor rugs designed for Ethimo by Paola Navone.
An innovative textile story to “dress” the outdoor spaces.

With the new collection of rugs Nodi, Ethimo and Paola Navone present soft elegant surfaces that recreate outdoors the same intimacy and comfort of rooms inside the home.

In a perfect balance of original style and performing materials, Rete, Punto croce and Camouflage, composing the collection Nodi, can ‘pick out’ an area, create a space, bring ideal definition to an environment or enhance a display, lending a sense of quality and beauty.

“This collection of outdoor rugs was born out of the charming tradition of artisan weaving.” Paola Navone explains. “Soft and thick, these rugs are made with macro yarns in three different colour shades. Grain weaving creates abstract geometric same-colour patterns in the weft. Their poetic, slightly distressed effect tells of the sense of living that is inherent in a Mediterranean soul.”

Skilfully hand woven, using macro yarns that, thanks to a special treatment, produce a soft ‘warm’ woolly effect, Rete, Punto croce and Camouflage, whose name hints at their characteristic weave, blend different, refined colour shades, that goes perfectly with any environment. Functional, versatile and hugely decorative, these rugs are designed to be resistant to the elements and UV rays, ensuring long durability and robustness.

Chilling, lounging and dining areas in the garden, on terraces or balconies and in other outdoor spaces are thus transformed into increasingly more complete, harmonious, welcoming habitats.

Woody, floor lamp

Light meets the warmth and natural magnificence of wood

Woody is the name that embodies the ‘substance’ of the new lamp created by Ethimo and Marc Sadler, a furnishing accessory with clean-cut refined design that brings suffused light to gardens and patios in the evening and expresses all its decorative strength during the day.

Designed to illuminate outdoor areas in private homes, contract and hotel settings, enhancing the most fascinating aspects of its surroundings, Woody is also an elegant addition indoors, where it creates a wonderfully relaxing mood.

In a balanced ‘conversation’ between form and function, Woody is made entirely from natural teak (FSC certified), has a double warm LED bulb, cabled power supply and is 152 cm tall. Its unusual slender ‘tripod’ structure holds a shade with a volume dictated by the ‘rhythm’ of strips placed close together that filter and diffuse the light between their gaps, creating spectacular effects.

After the Ribot collection and the Gaia and Tetris lamps, Ethimo and Marc Sadler here experiment and once again interpret the exceptional versatility of wood, lending warmth and appeal to settings in the open air.
