Atelier furnishes the terrace of a 2.0 ‘farm’ in Toronto

Built from scratch by the owners and spreading across three floors, the last of which is a panoramic terrace, the residence reinterprets the typological characteristics of the traditional, elongated Canadian farm in a modern way.

Equipped with all the most efficient comforts, this large ‘luxury farm’ immersed in the greenery of the surrounding woods is able to combine tradition and contemporary dynamism, creating direct contact with the landscape: in an ideal balance between privacy and exclusivity, everything is designed to make it welcoming and sophisticated at the same time, but always in harmony with nature.

The direct involvement with the landscape is represented by the large terrace, a space of over 200 square meters conceived as a real open-air ‘floor’ for living on, provided with crystal protection for shelter from the wind and a bioclimatic veranda and complete with kitchen, living area, dining area and outdoor maxi TV.

The owners, together with the designer, chose a kitchen from the Atelier line, custom-built by Abimis to satisfy the various practical and aesthetic needs and, above all, with respect for the architectural language of the setting. Made entirely of AISI 316 stainless steel – an ideal alloy for outdoor cooking, making the kitchen resistant to temperature changes, weather or damage from environmental corrosion, it is biologically neutral, so antibacterial, hygienic and easy to clean – in a sophisticated Scotch Brite finish.

Its configuration sees two blocks, of the same size, divided by the column supporting the cover by separating its functions: the module on the right is complete with storage compartments, refrigerators, and a 3-foot long worktop, while the module on the left houses the cooking and washing area, as well as an impressive central American style barbecue. This outdoor version of Atelier, with its unmistakable geometric lines, therefore presents itself as a perfectly equipped solution capable of ensuring the ideal organization of all the ‘tools of the trade’ and the dishes, just like a professional kitchen, but with a highly convivial soul.
